A Little Bit More About Me…

Maybe you stumbled across this page but accident. If so, I want to let you know this is just a post about who I am and some random things about me and my life. If your curious feel free to scroll on down.

First off, I am a christian. A King’s daughter who strives to live in the freedom, adoration and total amazement of His love.

I’ve been married to my handsome, amazing, devoted, and loving husband since 1992. (Yes, he has put up with me this long, he is a good man!) He is my best friend.

We have two wonderful daughters – wow, a bond that you can’t explain with words. I have yet to find anything like it. I love being their “Mama”. Our life is never boring, full of crazy inside jokes and innuendos that we find hilarious and I’m sure anyone outside of our home would find just plain weird. I had the privilege of homeschooling both of them all the way through high school. In 2019 we graduated our last one, thus retiring me from the title “Homeschool mom”. That has been an adjustment, I loved that title. 

I am a fun-loving, friendly, talkative, positive person who is passionate about God, health, family, living life full of joy and on purpose. However, I have the same struggles and trials as everyone else but strive to not let them overtake me.

I’m passionate about providing a non-toxic, calm, relaxing and peaceful home for those I cherish most. I love taking care of my family.

We strive to eat clean, even so we slip back into our old habits from time to time. We love food and grew up with good ole’ southern cooking. I love those recipes and we often get out of balance returning to the comfort foods of our roots. We work our way back to clean, organic food. The struggle is real!

Random things about me…..

• What I do for fun? Organize and clean. Seriously! I love it.
• My life has been full of change, so far I have moved over 20 times.
• It is not uncommon to find me dancing with the music turned up way too loud.
• Before marriage and children I wanted to be a flight attendant. I love to fly. Who knows, maybe one day.
• I’m the nerd of the family, constantly thinking about numbers. Keeping a budget, moving money into different envelopes, running reports showing percentages, all that number stuff makes me smile.
• I love to exercise, preferably with others. The kind of exercise where you are just having fun, don’t really notice that you are exercising until you can no longer talk from huffin’ and puffin’.
• One day I plan to train to hike the Appalachian Trail.
• I’m known as the oil lady. Realized that one day when I stepped into a restauarant in my home town after teaching an Essential oils class. I saw a lady from the class and read her lips as she told her husband, “That is the oil lady I was telling you about.” Love my oils and sharing them with others.
• I’m most content when near water – ocean, river, creek, lake, stream, waterfall, pond – makes no difference. Love anytime my toes are in the sand or I’m wading in a creek.
• I was a bit of a tomboy when I was young and still love to ride motorcyles and ATV’s and such.
• Campfires, I find mesmerizing and therapeutic.

Finally…

It is not uncommon to find me sitting next to a complete stranger while they pour out their heart. It happens often – while sitting on the beach, on the bench in a shoe store, at a museum, conference, a waitress at a restaurant….. I love it, my husband expects it and just sits patiently waiting then says afterwards, “You know, you missed your calling. You could get paid for this.” Nah, I love people. I love to listen. I love to pray for them or with them. I love encouraging and helping others and my hope is to do the same for you through this blog!
